Having been in storage since mid-October, I finally had the chance today to swing by the storage unit and get out my RX7 to go for a drive. A bit of a smokey start (it’s always done that after sitting for a long time) and it was quite happy for about 66 miles of driving around this afternoon.

Nice! I love a good first gen RX-7. That one looks immaculate!

Thank you! It’s completely rust-free and in mechanically great shape (except for an oil leak from the dowels I’m putting off fixing), but up close the paint shows its 185k miles in rock chips, dings, and fading. From a few feet back though it does look very good!

Sa22s are fantastic. The smell of a rotary engine in the cockpit is unmistakable.

Man, I love those. Bless you and all who keep them on the road.

Thank you! It can be fickle, but there’s no denying it’s a unique vehicle and well worth keeping around

Wow - gorgeous car. Love that interior color.
My first RX7 experience was getting to borrow my boss’s FC convertible to run errands decades ago. That car left a lasting impression on me and I’d love to find an FC or one like yours someday but I’ll probably just end up with a Miata...

Thanks!
If you have the interest, it’s worth hunting one down.
